According to the NPMA (National Pest Management Association) their bug barometer forecast shows that Bakersfield, CA and nearby residents, will see an emergence of ants and springtails this summer. Not to worry however, because Grand Pest Control can take action against these particular pests for property owners.

Many of our customers have come to us for help with ants, so this insect is definitely not uncommon. Springtails aren’t either, however, not everyone is familiar with this particular pest,” the manager at Grand Pest Control stated. “This pest can survive harsh winters so they will definitely start making their presence known once warmer temperatures arrive. That’s when we expect to start receiving calls,” he added.

Springtails have also been called ‘snow fleas’ but only because of their jumping ability that is similar to fleas. They are most often found in environments with moist conditions, including inside decaying wood or damp soil. When summer season comes around, springtails will be found near A/C drain lines and swimming pools.

The manager also told us that, “Springtails are not a pest to be afraid of. They’re actually beneficial in that they eat decaying organic matter. They do not bite and aren’t known for transmitting diseases, but they can definitely be a nuisance if they find their way into your home.”

The owners of Grand Pest Control said that they have the ability to manage and deal with springtail problems. They service both homes and businesses in the Bakersfield, CA area and offer customized treatment plans for each individual property they treat.

We can help you correct any excess moisture environments and locate any potential entry points on your structure that needs to be sealed in order to keep them from entering. Our goal is to help you obtain the relief you want, regardless if it is from springtails or another common pest like ants or spiders,” the manager said.

Bakersfield residents needing help with springtails or another pest issue should get in touch with the professionals at Grand Pest Control to learn more about how they can help. The company encourages property owners to contact them even if they don’t have an existing issue and are looking to protect against bugs all year round.
